# ISO 27001 Certification
When it's your responsibility, TrustBridge takes you from requirement to certification.
For many of our clients, ISO 27001 starts with a customer requirement, a contract or a business opportunity that requires certification.
ISO 27001 certification provides independent proof that your organization has a formal system in place for managing information security risk; it has also been evaluated against an internationally recognized standard.
From the beginning, TrustBridge makes sure you know what's required, what we evaluate and what comes next.
## What ISO 27001 Certification Includes
Initial certification takes place in two stages.
- ### Stage 1
TrustBridge reviews your ISMS documentation to confirm the required elements are in place and you're ready to move into the certification audit.
- ### Stage 2
The certification audit looks at how your ISMS works in practice and whether it meets the requirements of ISO 27001.
- ### Certification
Following successful completion of the audit and certification review, certification is issued for a three-year cycle.
- ### Annual Surveillance
TrustBridge conducts surveillance audits during the certification cycle to confirm the ISMS continues to meet the standard.
